Report on the launch of Desuung-The Guardian of Peace

Coinciding with the 40th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty The King of Bhutan- King Jigme Khesar NamgyelWangchuck, The Association of the Bhutanese in Perth Incorporated (ABPI) has launched the Desuung– The Guardian of Peace to provide services to the Bhutanese Community in Perth. ABPI received 100 number of Desuung T-Shirts and His Majesty’s badges from DesuungOffice in Thimphu Bhutan.

Accordingly desuups volunteered in the event management for two days of His Majesty’s Birthday Celebration in Perth on 21st and 22nd February in areas such as chadi(preparation), kitchen, reception, serving, crowd management, and cleaning. The two days events were a big success owing to the unflinching support ABPI received from the desuups. Desuups showed the true spirits of being a desuup and stood by the vows that we made and the oath that we took no matter where we are.

We would like to thank HIs Majesty on this day for envisioning the Desuung programme because of which we are able to serve our people no matter where they are. We also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the DesuungOffice for accepting our proposal and supplying us with the Desuung uniforms and His Majesty’s badges to enable us to carry forward the Desuung values and ethics. This enables us to live by our Desuung code of conducts irrespective of where we are.

It’s with great pride that we wore the uniform and with it we got renewed energy as if all the protective forces are with us.
As of now we have 73 desuups registered in an informal group in WeChat.
