Association of Bhutanese in Perth (ABPI) is a community of Bhutanese students, family members, and well-wishers. Every Bhutanese arriving in Perth is invited to and is expected to participate in the association at least in their capacity as members.
Perth in Western Australia is arguably the first place in Australia to have received Bhutanese people, dating back to 1969 when five young gentlemen from Bhutan arrived here for their higher school diploma at Hale School and Marist Brothers (now Newman College). Since then over the many years, Perth has been one of the favourite destinations for many a Bhutanese who have come to study, work and make a living, calling it a home away from home.
Australia is a wonderful country known for rich multiculturalism. With many Bhutanese pursuing their dreams, we strongly believe in the Association which was founded with the noble vision to respect our own culture and tradition plus harmonises and merges with other communities and cultures.
